Who links to me
Figuring out who links to your site
Figuring out if a domain links to your website is really,
really simple and you don't have to do anything complex. There
are two simple and free ways in figuring out if a domain links
to your website:
Do a search on the search engines: If you
don't have a lot of incoming links, then a simple search on any
search engine in the correct format will display all who link
to you. Let's say I wanted to find out who links to
http://www.kellinixon.com. I would go to Google and type
"link: http://www.kellinixon.com"
Be sure to put a space after the colon and the word link.
Thus, link: [space]http://www.example.com will bring up all of
the sites linking to a particular website (as far as Google is
concerned) Do this for each of the major search engines and you
will get some varying results. From the results, look for the
website in question to see if they are linking to you.
The second method for figuring out if a domain links
to your website is to use the free Google webmaster tools that are
available. Sign up for an account and you will be given all
kinds of free and useful information from the most important
search engine on the planet. Once you are logged in and
verify that you are the owner of a particular site, Google
will begin to populate information in your account for you.
It is not as instant as suggestion # 1 above, but it is very
useful.
